Waves 2020 - 2024

I make embossed paintings which I create through layers of plaster in which there are frescoes, paintings, graffiti, posters or other traces and references to our civilization in an urban environment. After layering the plaster, I gradually deconstruct the images, thereby imitating the natural process of extinction, which is ongoing, natural and irreversible. The result is a relief image reminiscent of the destroyed walls of old buildings. On one surface, the present meets the "past", various gestures, memories, contexts often influenced by my feelings and opinions about different situations and society. Their basic idea is to return to the past, which has much stronger values than the present. At the same time, instruction and inspiration for the present, which brings an uncertain or even fatal future.

The whole process of construction and restoration to archaeological uncovering of layers of the image is conscious and thought out in advance. I use various traditional and non-traditional painting techniques in my work. I researched the layering techniques and composition of building materials, plaster, and trowels that I use experimentally. The paintings are adjusted to frames and the supporting surface is jute canvas.
